Styling Jeans | Fall Edition

Jeans are like fries, you can’t have just one! In lieu of our love and appreciation for a timeless piece like denim, our Leona founders Edna and Alexandria are excited to share their jean styling tips for the upcoming fall season! The best part of it all — you can use these styling tips with jeans from any brand you are most comfortable in, your personal jean fit preference, or with jeans you already have in your closet!

Jeans are always a good idea! 

What’s incredible about jeans, is that you can make them as styled as you’d like them to be. If you’re ever lacking a bit of inspo, here’s a quick cheat sheet of Edna & Alexandria’s denim styling tips! 

Edna’s Black Denim: Versatile for any casual or formal occasion.

Outfit #1: Dress up and show up! With a comfortable fitting black pair of jeans, Edna added a velvet blazer to emulate elegant fall style, and layered a silky camisole underneath to keep a classy look. With her ensemble being the star of the show, her final touches to complete the outfit were strappy heels and delicate jewelry.

Outfit #2: Cozy like fall, but chic like Edna! Cooler weather in South Texas is the perfect temperature to bring out those knee-high autumn boots you’ve had tucked away in your closet! Not only can these style of shoes dress up your favorite jeans, but can double up for some extra warmth! For a daytime fall look, Edna slipped into some suede light tan boots to complement her black jeans, and wore it with an ivory open turtle-neck knitted sweater. 

One thing’s for sure...with simple neutrals, there’s always room for extra accents! To tie Edna’s look together, she brought in the element of print with a cheetah print crossbody. And just like that, she’s ready for a typical fall weather Rio Grande Valley day!

Outfit #3: Sometimes, your outfit looks too good to stay home! For a girls night-out look with a sophisticated yet conservative take, Edna paired her favorite denim jeans with a rich purple blouse that ties at the waist, giving that extra feminine feel. 

Edna loves accessorizing with simple but beautiful jewelry that can be used with an array of different looks, so she added a touch of silver to her ensemble with a long dainty necklace. With this color blocked outfit being the perfect opportunity to add some print to, Edna added a faux snakeskin crossbody that consisted of the colors of her black and purple outfit.

Alexandria’s High-Waisted Jeans: A denim staple with so much flare! 

Outfit #1: Casual and cozy go together like fall and pumpkin spiced lattes! For a casual fall day look, Alexandria paired her favorite high-waisted jeans with a loose silky camisole. To draw in chic-ness to her outfit, she draped a long camel knitted cardigan over the black camisole, with a black and white trim for added neutrals.

Outfit #2: It’s time to break out the sweaters! After all, sweater weather is better weather in South Texas if you know what we mean! ;) To dress up Alexandria’s high-waisted jeans, she front-tucked a chunky mustard sweater into her denim, and added her favorite neutral ever...leopard print! The leopard print belt she added at the waist not only tied the look together, but served as that pop of print she loves to add to solid outfits that can use a little extra lovin’!

Outfit #3: Make a statement and wear it confidently, girl! One of Alexandria’s biggest styling tips, is to create an even balance when it comes to wearing high-waisted skinny jeans. For an 80’s inspired work look, she wore a silky yet flouncy bodysuit with her high-waisted jeans, and added a plaid boxy blazer atop her bodysuit. Talk about a total #bossbabe ready to conquer the work day! 

But oh, the chic-ness didn’t stop there! To keep all her work essentials together, she finished the look with an orange mini-bag.
